The role is very well suited to ex Royal Navy Marine Engineers but will also suit mechanical/electrical engineers with dockyard/RN vessel experience.
Due to the nature of the role you will be required to have a full SC in process before a confirmed start date (this will be arranged for you)
Key Duties Include, But Not Limited To
Carry out electro/ mechanical low level maintenance
Assist with implementing the Health and Safety controls in ship's - including
permits to work for lock off and tag out, hot work, working at height and confined spaces, maintain the tag out database and reports, inboard connection/disconnection of dockside services required to support ship needs, main switchboard operation and maintain movement of weights, underwater valves and fittings logs whilst ship is docked.
Shift work will be required, and the shift pattern will be discussed at interview stage.
When on shift you will be responsible for the safe operation of ship systems and equipment, safety and security Marine and weapon engineering compartments, the whole ship fire safety and security, control of watertight integrity and control compartment keys.
Qualifications/experience Required
At least 3 years experience in an RN or relevant Marine engineering role
High Voltage
Working knowledge of electrical safety and testing
Initial contract length is 6 months but will be long term for the right candidates. Starts available as BPSS is gained (basic clearance) and full SC will processed once on site.
