Together, the Mer UK team has already secured over 20,000 subscribers to its public charging network app consisting of over 1,000 public charging sockets. Our network growth is accelerating to underpin the UK’s transition to electric vehicles. We are looking for new team members who align to these values, have a passion for electric vehicles and want to play a key role in the UK’s transition to cleaner mobility.
The role
You'll join our existing Installation Manager with your focus being to lead and manage our Field team ensuring our customers receive a seamless and efficient Installation service.
This role will be primarily office based from our HQ in Consett, County Durham however there will be an element of travel involved from time to time visiting customer sites. For this reason you will be provided with a Company vehicle, mobile phone, fuel and expenses card for work purposes.
Requirements
Your responsibilities and duties will involve but are not limited to:
-Day to day management of our existing sub-contractors, electricians and groundworkers, including performance management, absence management, recruitment interviews and assisting with the onboarding process as and when required.
-Managing the logistical planning (P8) process ensuring jobs are planned in and liaising with the in-house planning department so each job has a clear and structured.
-Ensure that Health and Safety is being followed on site and the field teams have all completed the relevant training
-Carry out onsite inspections, audits of work to maintain a high standard
-Check the electrical certificates and perform duties as a NICEIC qualified supervisor
-Manage our customer maintenance cycle including Health and Safety paperwork, van checks and liaise with other internal colleagues
What we would like from you:
-5 years minimum spent as a Commercial Electrician with proven Installation experience.
-The successful candidate will have proven management experience, can be resilient and will have no issues building successful working relationships
-Experience in logistical planning
-Strong communicator, can manage your time effectively and plan your day accordingly ensuring you are well-organised and confident in managing remote employees.
-Soft skills are vital to the success of this role, as the majority of our field staff are not based within the Head Office the majority of conversations will happen via telephone.
-SMSTS accredited
The Essentials:
-NVQ Level 3 qualified or City & Guilds equivalent
-Valid ECS Card
-Clean UK Driving Licence
-Experience in Logistical planning
