Wind Turbine Technician (Scotland South)
Salary: 32k – 44k (Depending on level of experience)
Contract: Full Time/Permanent
Location: Edinburgh & Lothians - Livingston Service Centre (EH54 9BU)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Wind Turbine Technician to join our Scotland South Team.
We are looking for candidates that are experienced Wind Turbine Technicians ideally with knowledge of Vestas & Senvion Wind Turbines, to join us during a period of growth.
Reporting to the Lead Wind Turbine Technician you be involved in the operation of our Livingston Wind Farm located in the South of Scotland.
You will be expected to deliver scheduled and unscheduled maintenance services in accordance with manufacturers guidelines.
The position is based at Livingston Service Centre, and we are looking for a candidate that lives within the Edinburgh & Lothians Area.

What You’ll Be Doing..
- Maintaining the highest levels of safety to comply with all health and safety requirements including the WTSR.
- Scheduled service in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines
- Reporting and planning daily maintenance activity.
- Coordinating local spare part and consumable stock.
- Fault-finding, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair on all turbine systems, which will include mechanical, electrical and hydraulic assemblies and major components.
- Proactive repair or component replacement to prevent complete failure or system downtime.
- Supervising specialist and subcontractor activity during main component exchange.
- Maintaining the highest levels of safety to comply with all health and safety requirements including the WTSR.
- Provide safety induction to contractors and visitors.
- Providing out of hours and weekend response to turbine breakdown.
- Ensuring the highest level of turbine availability.
What do you need to be great in this role?
- Significant experience on wind turbines in a technician capacity. Extensive knowledge of Senvion or Vestas turbines would be an advantage, with experience carrying out wind turbine projects in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines. Experience on other turbine technologies, Siemens, GE, or Nordex series turbines would also be considered.
- Qualification in electrical and/or mechanical disciplines to NVQ3 level (or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience)
- High level of physical fitness and good health
- Previous accreditation as AT/AE under WTSR
- High level of computer literacy
- Candidates with no previous wind experience but have at least three years hydraulic, electrical, or mechanical experience from an engineering background are welcome to apply. Extensive troubleshooting experience on these systems would also be advantageous.
Due to the nature of this role a driving license is essential and include that the person is required to participate in an on-call rota which is currently 1 in 4 weekends.
The Skills
- Qualification in electrical and/or mechanical disciplines to NVQ3 level (or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience). Knowledge of Vestas & Senvion turbine platforms would be an advantage.
- Excellent analytical skills
- High level of physical fitness and good health.
- Ability to work at height and in adverse weather conditions.
- Excellent understanding of health and safety.
- Previous accreditation as AT/AE under WTSR.
- High motivation and a flexible and enthusiastic approach to working in a small team.
- Good level of computer literacy.
