Job Description
We are looking for a Maintenance Technician with a mechanical bias to join our Maintenance Team at our South Queensferry site. Experience of working in the rail industry is not essential as full training will be provided. However, it is advantageous.
Your key duties will include (but not limited to):
- To maintain documentation such as Job sheets, Service reports, permits to work, risk assessments and any other documentation deemed relevant to Maintenance activities.
- Perform normal maintenance duties when and where necessary and any other duties as apparent or assigned.
- Identify, plan, present and implement continuous improvement ideas and projects.
- Monitor contractors, to ensure they are working safely, at all times, and are using the appropriate or required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with the sequencing of work assignments within the department to ensure a smooth flow and optimum efficiency of a safety & cost driven strategy within the maintenance department.
- Reports and maintains machinery breakdown / PPM status ref: PIRANA and a handover book, to ensure prompt attention and reduce waste.
- Provide realistic time / cost estimates for completions of specific maintenance tasks.
- Ensure all documentation is checked and signed off.
- To assist in the identification, sourcing, and purchasing of parts and equipment.

So, if you…
- Are a recognised time-served apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an engineering maintenance discipline
- Have proven electrical / mechanical maintenance experience, preferably within a process manufacturing environment
- Hold knowledge and understanding of Production Operations and Processes.
- Have experience in basic fault finding
- Can complete safety risk assessments, method statements & permit to works
- Have good working knowledge of hydraulic systems
- Are able to work a rotational shift pattern
