Solar PV Technical Field Engineer Role Overview Our client is highly recognised in the design, supply and installation of turnkey renewable technologies and, as a company that operates nationwide, is seen as one of the UK's leading commercial solar PV companies. They are MCS accredited and a NICEIC approved contractor.
The company is expanding rapidly and, as a part of the next phase of their expansion, now have an opportunity for someone to join their fast-growing Operations team as a Solar PV Field Technical Engineer. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Electrician / Field Engineer who possesses experience in Solar PV commissioning and fault-finding. Knowledge of Solar Monitoring Platforms would be advantageous (diagnosing on-site monitoring issues with specific solar systems).
This is a multifaceted role that requires travelling to different sites and staying away during the week. Locations you would be expected to cover include Manchester, Leeds and Sheffield. Key Responsibilities
- Repairs and minor works as and when required for installation callouts, servicing or planned works
- Full site and job management, covering the ordering of materials and site reports, to ensure fast resolution to servicing and remedial requirements of the company's end clients
- Liaise with Project Managers and assist with keeping the standards of the QMS, Operations and Maintenance manuals and professional working procedures
- Solar PV commissioning and electrical inspection and testing
- Carrying out full servicing works of Solar PV Installations across a broad range of clients and contracts within the commercial, industrial and domestic sectors
- Rotating on-call schedule Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Level 3 electrical certification / training
- C&G 18th Edition
- ECS Qualification (Gold Card)
- IPAF Trained (Advantageous)
- Harness Rooftop Trained (Advantageous)
- PASMA Trained (Advantageous)
- GQA Level 2 NVQ for the Installation of Photovoltaic Panels (Advantageous)
