We have an exciting opportunity for a Product Improvement Technologist to join our manufacturing team based at our headquarters in Thornton-Cleveleys, Lancashire.
More About The Role
As Product Improvement Technologist you will provide functional expertise to ensure product compliance to company specifications and drive improvement in product quality performance. You will develop and implement process control plans and provide technical input to customer complaint investigations.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will provide technical expertise for the chemical plant value stream and act as the key liaison between the manufacturing and R&D functions, linking new product development processes and ensuring appropriate support is provided.
The Product Technologist will design and lead experimental programmes in order to meet the company’s continuous improvement and operational excellence ambitions. You will own the non-conforming product process and use it to review and develop the plant’s control plans. You will support and lead complex investigations applying the scientific method and using data analysis to determine root cause.
Within the role you will act as the technical authority on manufactured products as well as coaching the operations team to ensure the requirements of the process control plan are understood and delivered.
Your Experience
We are looking for someone with the ability to influence across multiple departments and technical disciplines. You will have a proven record of delivering improvement projects and product investigations.
Our ideal candidate will have worked in the manufacturing industry and have experience working with products and customer applications across multiple plant areas and have experience of Quality Management Systems. They will know how to apply the scientific method and be a proven analytical thinker. A degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience is essential for this role and green belt accreditation is desirable. Victrex will help the right candidate to gain green belt or six sigma qualification.
