About The Job
The purpose of this post is to undertake research and development for one of our innovative healthcare projects. The position will focus on developing an AI tool that can predict sports-related injuries, with a particular focus on tendinopathy, in collaboration with sports experts and specialists. The postholder will be based at the Smart Health Centre of the University of East London, Docklands Campus, London.
Responsibilities Will Include
- Identifying and recruiting college athletes from various sports disciplines who meet the project's eligibility criteria and obtain informed consent from the participants.
- Conducting tests and measurements on the athletes to evaluate their neuromuscular performance. This includes assessing dynamic postural control, isometric hip and shoulder abduction and adduction strength, and core stability.
- Ensuring that the collected data is accurately recorded and stored.
Successful candidates should have a degree in Life Sciences, Sports Science, or Biomechanics (MBBcH is essential), with experience with machine learning, and knowledge of neuromuscular performance measures. You will be proficient with data collection and analysis methods, as well as standard statistical software, and familiar with ethical guidelines related to human subject research and the process of obtaining informed consent.
