The Greater Manchester Breast Screening Programme is part of the National Breast Screening Programme and is one of the largest breast screening services in England. The Greater Manchester Breast Screening Programme provides a free breast screening service for well women aged between 50 and 71, resident in Greater Manchester.
The post holder will work as part of the Manchester Breast Screening Programme which is based at the Nightingale Centre at Wythenshawe Hospital. The role comprises of assisting the Breast Screening Office Manager in the collection and input of data relating to breast screening patients. The role also involves input in the daily multi-disciplinary team meetings (MDT), ensuring that all eligible patients are discussed at these meetings and co-ordinating the appointments and information required by clinicians in the pathway to deliver the faster diagnosis standard.
We are looking for someone who has excellent people skills, can communicate appropriately and effectively with both health care professionals and patients, are organised, proactive and who care about improving outcomes for cancer patients.
The post-holder will be required to attend the daily Multi-Disciplinary Team Meetings and be responsible for the management of breast screening patients through this pathway.
The post-holder will be required to ensure the timely collection of data from the National Breast Screening System (NBSS) in relation to women undergoing routine breast screening and breast cancer. The role will involve the collection and analysis of data which can then be used for audit purposes. They will also be involved in producing reports using data taken from the NBSS and Breast Screening Select.
The post holder will also be required to extract data to be used by external data providers, be involved in data cleaning and manipulation, support the timely production of reports and internal and external requests for information, conduct general information and data analysis tasks. The work will also include a programme of audits across the Manchester Breast Screening Programme to support improvements in data quality and consistency.
The post-holder will work closely with Administrative and Clinical team to ensure that key performance and clinical information is collated and submitted on a regular basis and to required deadlines. The post-holder will be required to input data and compile reports which relate to a service with a broad range of service activities and large volumes of data held in several separate computer systems.
