The role
We are looking for talented Electricians to join our team in the UK on a permanent basis, particularly in the North-East of England, working remotely to help install our charging infrastructure and provide maintenance when required.
We supply all our teams with a van and the equipment needed to do the role alongside training on our systems so now has never been a better time to join us.
To succeed in this role, you will need to have a good knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety along with strong technical and communication skills - remember you'll be the face of Mer for the majority of our Customers so someone who is happy to get stuck in and problem solve would be perfect for this role!
This role will require a up-to-date ECS card and a minimum of 3 years experience as a Commercial Electrician (added bonus if you already have experience of EV Charging!) with regular travel expected around the UK, staying overnight as and when required.
Due to this, a full and clean UK Driving licence is also a requirement to the role.
Requirements
So what responsibilities can you expect on a regular basis?
This list is not exhaustive but your role will be a mixture of Installation and Maintenance of our charging infrastructure and back office network Driivz
Respond to unplanned site attendance requests ensuring that charger breakdowns are repaired at the earliest opportunity
Attend planned site visit requests which will be set out in a planned schedule given in advance by our office based team
Proactively ensure that all reasonable attempts are made to attend the sites which you have been scheduled to attend
Ensure all chargers are installed, maintained and repaired to the highest standards
Ensure all troubleshooting options have been attempted before escalating for assistance
Being able to work alone and alongside a team is vital, this role will require regular travel around the UK and you may be asked to work away from home on occasion.
Regular communication with Service and Support Manager and Operations staff
Deal with any issues with vans/equipment and link in with the office based Operations staff when needed
Ensure all paperwork and van checks are completed to a high standard within agreed timescales
What would we like from you?
Proven experience as a Commercial Electrician (3 years minimum)
NVQ Level 3 qualified or City & Guilds equivalent (Essential)
ECS Card (Essential)

The good stuff:
We are delighted to confirm that this is a full time, permanent role with ourselves. We currently work Monday to Friday and have a competitive base salary of £36k plus overtime and a monthly performance bonus.
