Role Purpose
The General Manager is a key leadership role responsible for the operationalization and strategic development of Sindalah Island, a luxury leisure destination. This role requires a dynamic leader who can ensure all aspects of the destination development run smoothly, deliver high-quality services, and drive the growth of the business.
Key Accountabilities & Activities
Key responsibilities
- Provide executive leadership and strategic direction for the day-to-day operations of Sindalah Island, ensuring all services and facilities meet the highest standards.
- Develop and implement business strategies that align with the NEOM overall vision and goals, and drive the growth of Sindalah Island as a premier luxury leisure destination.
- Oversee the financial performance of Sindalah Island, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the business.
- Oversee the planning, development, and execution of all development projects on the island, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality services that meet the expectations of a luxury leisure destination, driving guest satisfaction and repeat business.
- Ensure all operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, maintaining the highest level of integrity and professionalism.
- Identify and capitalize on growth opportunities to drive revenue and profitability, ensuring the long-term success of Sindalah Island.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key partners and stakeholders, positioning Sindalah Island as a partner of choice in the luxury leisure industry.
- Work closely with various stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, and local authorities, to ensure the smooth running of all operations.
- Manage risk and implement mitigation strategies to protect the company's assets and reputation, ensuring the safety and security of guests and employees.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and service quality, ensuring Sindalah Island remains at the forefront of the luxury leisure industry.
- Handle any crises or issues that arise on the island, ensuring they are resolved quickly and effectively, and that the highest level of service quality is maintained.
- Represent Sindalah Island in various forums and events, promoting its and NEOM’s image and reputation, and building strong relationships with industry partners and stakeholders.
- Lead the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives in line with the company's commitment to environmental stewardship, positioning Sindalah Island as a leader in sustainable luxury leisure.
- Oversee the creation and implementation of marketing and branding strategies to position Sindalah Island as a premier luxury leisure destination, driving brand awareness and guest loyalty.
Background, Skills & Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in a leadership role within a large-scale private or public institution, preferably in the luxury tourism or hospitality industry. This includes managing luxury destinations, overseeing high-end hospitality services, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- High proficiency in problem-solving, analytical skills, and strategic thinking, with the ability to navigate the complexities of the luxury travel market.
- Experience in large-scale national transformation programs is preferred, such as transforming a region into a luxury travel destination.
- Strong financial acumen, including an astute awareness of wider commercial, business, and socio-economic issues affecting the luxury travel industry.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage teams in a luxury destination setting.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging, and dynamic environment.
Qualifications
- An undergraduate degree from a top-tier institution in: Business, Economics, Finance, Strategy, Analytics, or related fields, with a focus on luxury travel or destination management.
- Advanced degrees and/or professional qualifications are required, preferably in luxury hospitality, tourism, or destination management.
- Certifications in Business Administration or related fields would be an added advantage.
