C# Developer - 6 months contract - 800 £/d Inside IR35 - London (Hybrid)
Our client plays a vital role in the energy trading sector, dealing with gas, power, and LNG trading. They are currently seeking a C# Developer (6 months renewable contract) to support the Programme Manager in developing energy trading systems and delivering solutions aligned with the requirements of Risk business.
The Developer should be capable of addressing the needs of front, middle, and back-office functions through a comprehensive understanding of the energy trading lifecycle while promoting the Agile and DevOps delivery approach.
This role will be based in the London offices.
Job Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in the design and development of Risk and Valuation systems.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders.
- Execute development tasks to ensure compliance with design principles, with a focus on component refactoring where applicable.
- Ensure clarity, alignment, testability, accuracy, and maintenance of technical requirements.
- Deliver development outputs in a timely manner, meeting the necessary quality standards to ensure fit-for-purpose solutions, efficient support, and the ability to assess the impact of future change requests.
- Adhere to change control procedures and implement robust version control and configuration management to safeguard the integrity of the production service.
- Follow reporting procedures for system development project progress, promptly addressing exceptions, issues, and unforeseen events and escalating when necessary.
- Uphold compliance with statutory and company procedures, including security policies.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in developing enterprise applications using .Net tools (C#).
- Previous experience as a Developer in Risk systems within the banking, financial services, or another commodity trading industry.
- Proficiency in various Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) phases, including analysis, coding, review, testing, documentation, implementation, and release management.
- Experience with development in a DevOps environment, with the ability to explain the chosen approach and its relevance to the specific situation.
- Willingness to explore new programming languages, technologies, and tools.
- Knowledge of Azure cloud development is advantageous but not mandatory.
