Role Description
This is a full-time on-site Senior Onshore Technician role located in Inverurie. The Senior Onshore Technician will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of electronic and mechanical equipment. They will also conduct testing, commissioning, and fault-finding of equipment on customer sites and in-house facilities, ensuring best practices in health and safety procedures are followed.
In the role they will also assist the Workshop Manager and Workshop Supervisor to manage the priorities of the technician team as well as providing them with training, support and coaching to help them progress their skills and experience on the equipment and the necessary processes.
Key Responsibilities
• Aid the WM with on-site activities, ensuring work is conducted in accordance with company QHSE guidelines and Customer requirements. Where required, liaise with internal and external customers, ensuring all work undertaken is done expeditiously, in a safe manner and in accordance with customer requirements, whilst being in the best interest of Ashtead.
• Supervise & train designated Trainee/Workshop technicians, and as a mentor, sign off training and competency as appropriate
• Responsible for inspection, testing, repair and preparation of stand-alone and integrated subsea cutting, dredging, coating removal equipment scopes.
• Occasional travel to client vessels or worksites to mobilise equipment or provide equipment familiarisation
• Completing work orders in the ERP system
• Preparing and testing equipment for hire, ensuring the kit is fully functional, complete, accurately documented, photographed and professionally presented.
• Documenting any missing/damaged equipment.
• Completing repairs to equipment to manufacturer standards.
• Ensure that equipment is stored correctly and safely.
• Participate in pre and post job review meetings to ensure Ashtead Technology projects are carried out to internal process standards and client expectations.
Qualifications
- Previous Mechanical or Electrical qualification or relevant industry experience
- Previous supervisor experience of coaching and mentoring teams
- Previous experience offshore in operating subsea, cutting, dredging, cleaning and abrasive cutting experience preferred.
- Track record of experience in subsea offshore operations in IRM and decommissioning
