Solar PV Designer
Role: Solar PV Designer Location: Hull Contract: Permanent Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 DOE Job Description: Our client, one of the fastest-growing Renewable Energy companies in the UK is seeking a skilled and experienced Solar PV Designer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in using solar design software, particularly Open Solar or PV Sol, to create accurate and efficient solar energy system designs. Additionally, expertise in Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and practical experience with electrical wiring is highly desirable. This role may suit someone with previous experience as a solar installer, with design skills. Responsibilities: Utilise Open Solar or PV Sol software to design solar energy systems according to project specifications and client requirements. May have to conduct site assessments to gather necessary data for designing solar systems, including shading analysis, roof measurements, and electrical infrastructure evaluations. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure designs meet performance objectives, regulatory requirements, and budget constraints. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and advancements in solar technology to enhance design methodologies and optimize system performance. Requirements: Proven experience in solar energy system design, with a strong proficiency in using Open Solar or PV Sol software . Familiarity with Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) is highly advantageous. Hands-on experience with electrical wiring, preferably in solar PV systems. Previous experience as a solar installer is desirable. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with teams and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical staff. Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to producing accurate and high-quality work within established timelines. Knowledge of relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations governing solar energy systems, such as NEC, IEC, and local building codes.
