SUEZ has a vision: a society with no more waste, where waste materials are reused, recycled or recovered for their energy content. To that end, we operate Energy from Waste (EfW) facilities. Where waste that would normally go to landfill is used to create energy, offsetting the need for fossil fuels. SUEZ also operate a number of processing facilities such as MRFs (Materials Recycling Facilities). As a Graduate Engineer at SUEZ, you’ll have the chance to develop your skills amongst our experts and learn about innovative, green waste management.

About The Role

  • £27,560 per annum + Car or Car Allowance + Bonus + Benefits
  • Can be based anywhere in the UK that is close to a SUEZ EfW site
  • Role is offered on a 24 month basis - incorporating work placements within the business. There will be travel expected in this role.
  • A Full UK Driving Licence is essential for this role
  • You must have the right to work in the UK.

About The Role

What Will I be Doing?

  • Join the graduate program to undertake two years learning and development to focus on; understanding the wider team & business functions while specialising in a technical engineering (systems) role.
  • Pursue professional development with a professional body such as the IET, the IET are a linked professional body to the business.
  • This role will give the opportunity to both shadow and assist members of the Systems Team, wider Technical Team and other business functions gaining insight into the operational nature of the business.
  • Carry out tasks with the team along with project work to learn, understand and experience the systems used within the business. Technical projects will focus on process model development and how these are used and optimised to increase efficiency and cost avoidance.
  • At the end of the scheme; have the skills, knowledge, experience and qualifications to move into an engineering role within the Systems Team
  • Be an integral part of the team developing process models
  • Develop AI learning techniques
  • Implementation of AI machine learning and deep learning into process models
  • Prioritise improvement actions based on business requirements
  • Learn business functions, interactions and operational nature to become technical expert
  • Support change management by improving strong data culture and sharing best practices
  • Participate in group graduate tasks / projects

What are the Requirements?

  • Maths or Data Science or equivalent degree at degree level
  • Graduating or Graduated in the last 2 years with degree at 2:1 minimum standard
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Full UK driving license preferred with willingness to travel / overnight stays where required
  • Microsoft Office suite
  • Effective communication both verbal and written
  • Data science / problem solving skills
