We are an aspiring organisation, and we are looking for equally bold and creative Facilities Engineer to join our established team. Nissan is positioned to become the most desirable Asian brand in Europe, and we need your help to get there.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

Support NTCE facilities department with both site and test facility engineering:

  • Technical leader / advisor for R&D test systems, particularly climatic chambers, chassis & engine dynamometers, hydraulic and pneumatic test systems including 4 Road Simulators, gas detection systems etc.
  • Skilled Risk Assessor for maintenance and engineering tasks
  • Ensure Statutory Compliance for R&D Facilities and test equipment, including the provisions of LOLER, PUWER etc.
  • Test Facility installation, development & maintenance
  • Electrical - mechanical engineering knowledge, including machinery safety systems (guarding, PILZ relays, fortress systems etc.).
  • Engineering administration & CAFM daily management, technical leadership of a team of Maintenance Technicians.
  • Ongoing development of PPM & TPM systems.
  • Technical authoring to prepare maintenance procedures and facility specifications.
  • Energy efficiency study & reporting for contribution to EV360 for R&D
  • General site & building facility management knowledge including Fire detection & suppression systems, HVAC, L8 etc..
  • Contractor management. including the commercial arrangements, safe systems of work; permit systems and supervision
  • PUWER assessment and buy off; a comprehensive understanding of machinery safety, ideally in an automotive R&D environment.

Skills & Experience

The Facilities Engineer should have the following skills or experience:

  • Be degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Have relevant experience or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and multitask between multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competent with PC applications including Microsoft excel and Microsoft project.
  • Be self-motivating, self-managing, pro-active and positive. Have an energetic personality and be flexible regarding working practice and working hours.
