Job Title: Site Manager - Solar PV Contract Length: 12 Months (Renewable) Location: Cornwall Daily Rate: £450 pd (Inside IR35) Start Date: ASAP A new opportunity has arisen with our client for a a Site Manager to manage a large-scale Solar project in Cornwall. The specific duties which will be performed include the following: Health & Safety

  • Actively monitors H&S on site and reports findings to the Principal Contractor and feeds back to Package Manager by issuing Safety Observation Reports, Near Miss Reports etc. to encourage a positive H&S Culture on site.
  • Promotes the companies Approach to H&S including the ‘Life Saving Rules’ and ‘5 Simple Actions’ and ensuring that contractors act within the ‘Contractors Minimum Requirements’.
  • Instructs Contractors/site personnel to stop work in instances of serious H&S breaches or when site personnel are at risk.
  • Conduct regular H&S audits of the site and discuss findings with the Principal Contractor and follow up close out of actions.
  • Ensures that the Company Accident and Incident Reporting Procedure is adhered to by all contractors and site personnel on site.
  • Review and Comment on all Contractors Risk Assessments and Method Statements, Lift Plans etc.
  • Assist H&S Department in the analysis of accidents, incidents, SORs etc. by compiling and submitting monthly H&S statistics in the required format.
  • Review the final completed handover documentation (as built drawings, manufacturer's data, test results etc.) provided to the Client by Contractors and comment as necessary. Records and Reporting
  • Produce Weekly Reports and issued electronically to the PM on a weekly basis in an agreed format.
  • Maintain a Site Diary
  • Maintain a Complaints Log and discuss with Package Managers/Project Managers appropriate actions to close out.
  • Take regular Site Photographs and store electronically in folders by week or work area for easy future reference.
  • Produce and maintain commercial records such as agreed quantities where work is re-measurable, facts on events causing to delays or issues that may lead to claims between Contractors and the Employer throughout the Project.
  • Produce ‘As-built’ Programme to refer to throughout the project and at completion.
  • Assist Package Manager and Commercial Manager in reviewing and agreeing Contractors applications for payment.
  • Advise the Client prior to the issuing any formal Completion Certificate in respect of the Project (or any part thereof) including identifying any outstanding works to be carried out after Completion.
  • Provide assistance and input into the Project Risk Register. The Client will prepare, maintain, manage and regularly update a Project Risk Register. The Project Risk Register will be issued monthly. Site Management Duties
  • Regular liaison with Principal Contractor staff and site management to discuss the works
  • Convene and minute site Coordination meetings weekly (Where procure works on a multi contract basis) to discuss H&S, Interfaces, access and quality issues
  • Facilitating and coordinating any client site visits such as Directors Safety Tours etc.
  • Manage interface with Landowners, host site, Third parties and Community
  • General Site Supervision of all works
  • Facillitate and lead detailed coordination and sequencing workshops with Contractors to ensure the works are planned and executed with minimal risk to programme and safety. The interfaces between civil works, cabling, concrete pours, PV module deliveries, PV mounting frame installation etc. should be considered. The conclusions and plans from such workshops shall be documented and distributed among the contractors to ensure all are aware of the agreements.
  • Liaise with the Archaeological and Environmental Clerks of Works to agree attendance dates as required, ensure cooperation with the Principal Contactor, review RAMS documents and monitor the working practices of each Project Contractor.
  • Monitor the progress of the PV installer in order to ensure that the module deliveries are coordinated.
  • Monitor progress of the EPC Contractor in order that works are coordinated with other contractors, energised and commissioned in accordance with the Project Programme.
  • Witness, oversee and report (weekly) to the Client on the construction, installation, testing and commissioning of the PV systems.
  • Provide a full time site attendance for the purpose of general project supervision and cooperation. The site agent will attend site / work on the project Monday to Friday with weekend working as agreed with Company. Quality Inspections and Quality Control
  • Review of material deliveries and check for compliance with Contract drawings/designs.
  • Review and comment on Contractors site safety policies, plans, RAMS, Quality and environmental compliance procedures.
  • Supervise the site establishment and setting-out of the site access, access tracks, hardstandings, foundations and all PV mounting and infrastructure works. Supervise major concrete pours and carry out Concrete Pre and post pour inspections. Supervise cable installation, drainage, substation building trades.
  • Supervise the setting-out of the electrical works to ensure compliance with project consents and any other requirements of the Contract or the project documents.
  • In conjunction with the Clients Electrical Engineer assist with all necessary site inspections and include with the weekly reports to be issued to the Client.
