Senior Analyst - Green Fuels

Salary: £85,000 - £100,000 GROSS

Energy Market Analytics - Low Carbon Fuel

Reporting directly to the Head of analytics, in the first instance, the core task will be to support the companies ethanol trading business in Europe, with the intention over time of supporting the companies wider participation in the green and alternative fuels market.

Main responsibilities

This list is not exhaustive and may include other tasks assigned by the manager.

Work closely with the green fuel traders to develop analytical platforms and tools that meet business needs.

Develop a demand and supply model for the European bio gasoline and biodiesel markets.

Monitor regulatory developments in the green fuel space and translate them into quantitative assumptions.

Develop trading ideas based on fundamental analysis of fuel and green fuel markets.

Evaluate and monitor the accuracy and effectiveness of external models.

Develop additional analytics related to fuel policy developments and fuel market fundamentals.

Work closely with the carbon analyst on analysis of carbon intensity, and on the carbon reduction element of the green and alternative fuels market.

Collaborate with colleagues in analytics and origination to develop new business ideas for participation in other biofuel markets, including biomethane, biodiesel, bionaptha, and alternative fuels, including hydrogen-based fuels, such as green ammonia and green methanol.

Provide general analytical support on green and alternative fuel topics to

3 years' experience in an analytical role working on fuels

Broader experience in the commodity industry or energy markets, particularly in fuels

Specific experience covering green and alternative fuel markets is also desirableTechnical requirements

Advanced degree in engineering, sciences, math, finance, or economics or equivalent experience

Advanced skills in a combination of Excel, SQL, Python and statistics

Experience of building/developing optimisation procedures/models and in application of data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau.Person specification
