Home Working / Hybrid – Ideally located near 1 of our offices, preferably Leeds but we have offices in Manchester, Birmingham, London, Bristol, and Reading.

NG Bailey currently have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental & Sustainability Manager to join their Services business supporting them with their environmental and sustainability objectives and responsibilities.
Reporting into the Head of SHEQ, you will support the business by complying with environmental regulations, developing and implementing policies, and coordinating all aspects of pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental health, conservation and renewable energy to ensure that the company is environmentally and socially responsible.
Travel will be required to meet with the Senior Leadership Team, Operations and our clients across the UK.

We are looking for a passionate environmental expert who has experience in advising and supporting similar businesses to deliver the environmental & sustainability responsibilities. They will be comfortable engaging and working with senior management and clients alike to influence their expertise. You may have a degree in a relatable field (Environmental, Sustainability etc) and professional membership like IEMA (Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment or CEnv), but this is not essential.

- Develop and implement environmental strategies and action plans, to ensure corporate sustainable development
- Lead the implementation of environmental policies and practices
- Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and keep up to date with UK, European Union and international regulation and legislation
- Carry out impact assessments to identify, assess and reduce an organisation's environmental risks and financial costs
- Set organisational sustainability targets, developing plans to meet those targets and oversee their delivery
- Review, update and implement appropriate environmental awareness and responsibilities training to all levels of the business.
- Audit, analyse and report environmental performance to internal and external clients
- Carry out impact assessments to identify, assess and reduce an organisation's environmental risks and financial costs
- Engage in negotiations of environmental service agreements and monitor SLA’s are maintained
- Set organisational sustainability targets, developing plans to meet those targets and oversee their delivery
- Coordinate and maintain aspects/impacts register

In addition;
- Knowledge of carbon reporting, social value, and The National TOMs.
- Experience of Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001)
- Experience of working within the Utility, FM OR construction sector.
