Project: Insights of fluid composition from pore-to-process

Location:

Abingdon, United Kingdom

About SLB

We are a global technology company, driving energy innovation for a balanced planet.

At SLB we create amazing technology that unlocks access to energy for the benefit of all. That is our purpose. As innovators, that’s been our mission for 100 years. We are facing the world’s greatest balancing act- how to simultaneously reduce emissions and meet the world’s growing energy demands. We’re working on that answer. Every day, a step closer.

Our collective future depends on decarbonizing the fossil fuel industry, while innovating a new energy landscape. It’s what drives us. Ensuring progress for people and the planet, on the journey to net zero and beyond. For a balanced planet.

Description And Scope

There is an increasing interest across the energy industry to track the fluid compositions from subsurface to surface, and all the way to the export points to have full understanding of the produced fluid (PVT) details; and subsequently to better manage emissions from process plants, e.g. carbon dioxide (CO2) and/or hydrogen sulphide (H2S).

Deliverables

  • To apply the SLB's Integrated Asset Modeller (Iam) PVT Manager for black oil delumping and to develop scripts in the Symmetry process models to assure fluid fidelity of an integrated reservoir well & network – process model.
  • To ensure any specific interested fluid compositions can be tracked from pore-to-process as the Iam simulated outputs, i.e. CO2 / H2S content, which subsequently to be presented graphically for visualisation and analysis.
  • To develop scripts for alarm triggering when the tracked contaminants exceed the specified envelope, and subsequently being actioned upon to bring them under the control.
  • Further enhancing the Iam solution workflow to enable the ability of tracking and monitoring the API gravity of the producing fluids at any nodes and/or Oil Export throughout the field life

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Studying for a Bachelors/Masters degree within Energy engineering, chemical engineering, AI, data science, or a related discipline
  • Oral and written communication skills in English
  • Good motivation, autonomy, teamwork, and ingenuity
  • Python Scripting
  • Visual Basic
  • Fluid Modelling (PVT)

BlueFlex: We are open to flexible, hybrid working with a combination of on-site & home working days.
