We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HV Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in high voltage (HV) systems, contractor management, and commissioning of substations and chargers. The HV Project Engineer will play a pivotal role in the successful execution of HV projects, ensuring adherence to safety standards, project timelines, and quality benchmarks.
Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Execution:
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of HV projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives, budgets, and timelines.
- Develop project scope, schedule, and budget in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors/vendors to ensure smooth project execution.
High Voltage Systems Expertise:
- Demonstrate expert knowledge in high voltage systems, including transformers, switchgear, protection systems, and related equipment.
- Analyze technical requirements and recommend appropriate HV solutions to meet project specifications and standards.
Contractor Management:
- Oversee contractor selection, procurement, and management throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide guidance and technical support to contractors, ensuring compliance with project requirements and safety regulations.
- Monitor contractor performance, resolve issues, and mitigate risks to ensure project success.
Commissioning of Substations and Chargers:
- Manage the commissioning process for substations and chargers, including equipment testing, energization, and performance evaluation.
- Develop commissioning plans, procedures, and documentation to ensure seamless integration and functionality of HV systems.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to address commissioning challenges and optimize system performance.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Implement quality assurance measures to ensure HV projects meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct inspections, audits, and assessments to verify compliance with design specifications and safety protocols.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and best practices in HV project engineering.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions and delays.
- Monitor project progress, budget, and resource utilization to proactively address issues and deviations from plans.
- Implement safety protocols and procedures to mitigate hazards associated with HV installations and operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in HV project engineering, with a focus on substations and chargers.
- Strong technical expertise in high voltage systems, including design, installation, and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated proficiency in contractor management, procurement, and vendor relations.
- Experience in commissioning HV systems and equipment, with a track record of successful project delivery.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and adapt to changing project requirements.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., NEC, IEEE, NEMA).
