Electron Green is a leading renewable energy firm dedicated to driving the transition to a sustainable future. We specialize in developing on-site solar photovoltaic (PV) projects, harnessing the power of sunlight to generate clean and reliable electricity. As we continue to expand our portfolio, we are seeking a talented and experienced Project Developer to join our team.

As a Project Developer, you will play a crucial role in the development and execution of on-site solar PV projects in the UK and Europe. Leveraging your expertise in the solar PV market, you will be responsible for taking projects from initial feasibility through to the "ready-to-build" stage. This position requires a proactive individual who can work independently, demonstrate strong project management skills and commercial acumen and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and assess on-site solar PV project opportunities in the UK and at least one other international market (Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands).
  • Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and due diligence to evaluate project viability and potential risks.
  • Carry out financial modelling and scenario analysis on individual projects and across project portfolios
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to secure necessary approvals and permits.
  • Negotiate roof leases, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and other contractual agreements with landlords and building occupiers.
  • Manage project finances, including budgeting, cost estimation, and financial modelling in order to secure investor sign-off.
  • Work with Electron Green’s internal design/engineering and procurement functions to ensure compliance with quality standards and timelines.
  • Handover projects to Electron Green’s delivery organisation for construction.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies to inform project strategies and decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in onsite solar PV project development, with a strong understanding of the solar PV market in the UK and at least one additional country from the specified list.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and delivering on-site solar PV projects from inception to completion.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, permitting processes, and incentive programs related to solar PV development.
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and mitigate risks.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders – including institutional asset managers and building occupiers.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and financial modelling.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative, while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and making decisions with available information
  • Right to work in the UK is required.

If you meet the qualifications and are excited about the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the renewable energy sector, we encourage you to apply for the Project Developer position at Electron Green. Join us in our mission to create a brighter, cleaner future for generations to come.
