A leading firm in the renewable energy sector is seeking a talented PV Designer to join their dynamic team. Your workweek will be structured yet flexible, with hours from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Thursday, and shorted day of 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Fridays, totalling a 39-hour week. As a PV Designer, you will be instrumental in crafting efficient and sustainable solar energy solutions. You will create detailed layout plans, single-line diagrams, and electrical schematics using AutoCAD software. Also, generating comprehensive project documentation, including design reports, technical drawings, and installation manuals. Your expertise will directly contribute to the transition towards a greener future. Key Responsibilities:
- Utilise PV*Sol software to design and simulate solar PV systems, including rooftop, ground-mounted, and hybrid systems.
- Create detailed layout plans, single-line diagrams, and electrical schematics using AutoCAD software.
- Conduct shading analysis, and feasibility studies to optimise system performance and energy production.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to develop customised solar PV solutions that meet project requirements and objectives.
- Perform system sizing calculations, equipment selection, and component specifications based on site conditions, electrical load profiles, and regulatory standards.
- Generate comprehensive project documentation, including design reports, technical drawings, and installation manuals.
- Stay current with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in solar PV system design and integration.
- Essential:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in solar PV system design and engineering.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD software for drafting and design.
- Solid understanding of solar PV technology, components, and system configurations.
- Knowledge of UK-specific electrical codes, standards, and regulations related to PV installations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Detail-oriented, with a focus on accuracy and precision in design work.
