Data Analytics Manager to join our
Data Services team at
Genomics plc, a world-leading scale-up that's driving innovation in genomics. If you thrive on solving complex data problems and turning analytics into actionable insights, this is the role for you!
Role Purpose: As a Data Analytics Manager, you will work on a wide range of activities encompassing data analytics and modelling that are vital to the work of our scientists and the success of Genomics plc. You will collaborate with teams across Science, Marketing, Product, and Supply Chain, delivering services that drive business growth and support our Enterprise and Life Sciences products.
What You’ll Do:
- Drive Analytics: Take responsibility, as Product Owner, for the full lifecycle of historical and predictive team metrics, from inception to refinement, ensuring high levels of governance.
- Dashboard Curation: Curate and update team dashboards to tell a coherent and compelling data story, supporting decision-making across the company.
- Collaborate with Engineering: Work closely with the Engineering team to ensure high-quality data and seamless data availability from source systems.
- Craft Intelligent Benchmarks: Develop effective benchmarks, performance measurement techniques, and model validation metrics to drive our analytics strategy.
- Develop Data Models: Contribute to the continuous refinement of our logical and physical business and genomic data models to support insights and data acquisition.
Who Are You:
- Commercial Mindset: You have a sharp sense of where data insights can fuel business growth.
- Problem-Solver: Comfortable operating in ambiguous, complex problem spaces, with the persistence to help teams define key questions that drive success.
- Analytical Skills: Strong mathematics knowledge, analytical thinking, and the ability to use logic and reasoning effectively. Statistical expertise is desirable.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in programming (preferably Python) and working with APIs, with experience using SQL for relational databases. Familiarity with Metabase is a bonus, but not required.
- Collaborative Partner: Proven experience partnering with data engineering teams to communicate quality needs and facilitate data ingestion, warehousing, and optimisation.
- Clear Communicator: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and contribute to the team’s success.
- Professional Development: Evidence of continuing professional development and keeping updated with industry trends and best practices.
- Educational Background: MSc or higher qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience. You will have successfully completed at least one or two roles in the field of analytics and can contribute your domain expertise and experience of industry good practice to our evolving analytic service.
