Permanent, salary: up to £45,000 (depending on experience)
Based on site in Leyland, Preston
40 hours a week (Mon – Fri, 08.00 – 16.30)

Are you passionate about testing and helping to develop the next generation of driveline products for a range of applications, including Electric Vehicles? Would you like to develop sought after Driveline/EDU test skills?
We’re looking for a Test Engineer to specialise in Driveline/EDU and join a leading Automotive Test facility. The successful Test Engineer will join a Company offering customisable vehicle testing solutions, which include; proving grounds and laboratories for vehicle engineering and homologation for transport, agricultural and defence industries (amongst others!). What would the Automotive Test Engineer do?
- Your core focus will be on Driveline & EDU testing. The work’s varied, covering durability to efficiency mapping + performance testing, on electrified & conventional driveline products
- Testing is carried out in established and bespoke drive cycles for customers including premium OEMs and Tier-1s from the automotive, motorsport & commercial vehicle markets
- You will be actively involved in all aspects of the test program life cycle, working closely with customers and in-house engineer and technician teams
- Competently deliver tests, review and analyse logged data, and validate the test results
- Project tasks will include Fixture design, equipment installation, test bed control system setup, test execution, data processing and reporting.
What skills and experience will the Automotive Test Engineer need?
- A degree or equivalent experience in relevant engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic)
- An interest and passion in progressing your career in Driveline test and development, including HV electric machines (essential)
- Test bed control system(s) and CAN communications (preferred)
- CAD (preferred)
- Instrumentation and data acquisition (preferred)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Strong organisational, analytical and problem solving skills
- Flexibility to travel as and when required
