Role Title: Graduate Hydrogeologist
Start Date: September 2025

We have an opportunity for a Graduate Hydrogeologist to join our successful groundwater and geothermal business which forms part of our wider geo-environmental and mining business unit. Our team consists of c. 120 groundwater, geothermal, land quality, mining and ground investigation professionals. We operate across the UK & Ireland and manage several high-profile groundwater and geothermal frameworks and contracts including the GeoEnergy NI Project, Northern Irish Private Water Supply Framework, Northern Ireland Water – Groundwater Supply Consultancy Framework, Mobuoy Remediation Contract, and the Environment Agency - National Borehole Decommissioning Project in England.
Due to our recent success in securing several long-term groundwater resources, contaminant hydrogeology and geothermal contracts we have a unique opportunity for an ambitious graduate hydrogeologist to join us and support several Key Client Accounts. The successful candidate will be joining us at an exciting time in our growth and development as a business and will have the opportunity to gain experience across a range of groundwater and geothermal projects.
Role
The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate that they have a genuine interest in the field of groundwater or geothermal and ideally have some work experience. The role will involve:
- Assisting with the design, procurement, supervision and management of groundwater and geothermal investigations.
- Undertaking desk top study studies and assessments.
- Undertaking groundwater surveys, monitoring, testing and assessment works.
- Accurate collection and analysis of site data to support modelling and assessments works.
- Production of detailed reports factual progressing to interpretative
Qualifications/Skills Required
- You will have a first degree in geology, engineering geology, environmental science or related subject.
- You will have a higher degree (Master’s or PhD) in groundwater or hydrogeology;
- The enthusiasm and determination to learn and progress within the fields of groundwater and geothermal.
- You will be familiar with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to create, manage and analyse information.
- Strong analytical, written, communication and presentation skills.
- Preferable to have relevant work experience e.g. a work placement;
- Excellent teamwork skills.
- a full clean driving license.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone interested in groundwater and geothermal energy to support the feasibility, investigation, testing, procurement and implementation of new water supply and geothermal energy systems.
The candidate will be based out of one of our UK or Irish offices and will have the opportunity to work on hydrogeological and geothermal projects in Great Britain and Ireland, as well as internationally.
You will need to have a flexible approach to time management and be willing to travel from you home for short periods.
