An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Flood Risk consultant to join our highly successful team based in our London office. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate with a passion for environmental science, civil engineering, or related fields to develop their career in flood risk management and hydrology.
Your Role Will Be To
- Assist in the preparation of flood risk assessments for a variety of projects.
- Conduct hydrological and hydraulic modelling using industry-standard software to assess flood risks.
- Support the design and implementation of sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) and flood mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to provide technical input on flood risk and water management issues.
- Assist in the preparation of technical reports, including flood risk assessments, drainage strategies, and environmental impact assessments.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant regulations, guidance, and industry best practices related to flood risk and water resources.
- Participate in site visits to gather data and conduct inspections, where required.
The attributes we expect you to bring to the role and company:
- A degree in civil engineering, environmental science, geography, or a related field.
- Knowledge of flood risk assessment methodologies and flood modelling techniques.
- Experience with hydrological or hydraulic modelling software (experience with specific programs is a plus, but training will be provided).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present complex data.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- A passion for environmental sustainability and flood risk management.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
