We are currently seeking skilled Arborists to join our team in South Wales.
The Role: Arborist
As an Arborist at Ground Control, you’ll be part of a dynamic team of three, undertaking all aspects of arboriculture work, including felling, pruning, crown lifting, reduction, and thinning, primarily along rail sites. This role is ideally suited to someone based around Cardiff, but flexibility to travel with the team as required by project locations is essential.
What We’re Looking For:
We are seeking candidates who are experienced and skilled in rigging and complex tree work. A deep understanding of tree identification and arboriculture practices is essential, along with experience and competency in the use of chippers and stump grinders. Proficiency in climbing is a must, as is previous experience in a similar role. You’ll need to be highly aware of the health and safety requirements of working in this environment and be able to work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines.
Who We’re Looking For:
The ideal candidate will have some, but not necessarily all, of the following qualifications:
- Strong academic performance in English and Mathematics
- Brushwood Chipper Operations (NPTC)
- S30 – Maintain the Chainsaw
- CS31 - Fell Small Trees
- CS36 – Cross, Cut & Stack Procedure
- CS38 – Climb Trees & Perform Aerial Rescue
- CS39 – Operate the Chainsaw from a Rope & Harness
- ASG02 - Certificate of Competence in Stump Grinding Operations
- First Aid Awareness/Certification
- PTS Ticket
- Full, Valid Driving License
- 2-4 years of experience in a similar role
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships
- Knowledge of Latin plant names and growth rates
