About Us
The Energy Team is part of a multi-disciplinary Property Team with specific responsibility for developing, maintaining, and reporting the Councils Carbon Management Plan; to contribute to the Council’s Project Zero challenges and lead on the property related challenges set out in the Council’s Climate Change Challenge Plan; be responsible for the Councils Carbon reporting data and annual returns to Welsh Government and to implement the Councils decarbonisation priorities. The Decarbonisation and Energy Manager is the lead role in delivering these important priorities for the Council.

Pay Details: Grade 11 (SCP 40-43) £48,474 - £51,515
Hours of Work / Working Pattern: 37 Hours, Full Time Mon to Fri

About You
You will need:
- Significant experience of managing a team in a relevant specialism (e.g. Energy/Decarbonisation)
- Post qualification experience working in a relevant role in the energy sector including operating within relevant legislation and grant/funding arrangements for Energy projects
- Experience of communicating with senior stakeholders
- Experience of managing projects and contracts
- Experience of working collaboratively with other public and private sector organisations
- Excellent working knowledge of energy efficiency initiatives and Welsh Government carbon reporting requirements
- Excellent working knowledge of energy efficient design and sustainable development principles
- Excellent working knowledge of renewable energy initiatives and opportunities
- Knowledge of the work of relevant public sector energy groups, such as the CLAW Energy Group
- Degree in relevant property/Energy related discipline (or equivalent)
- Professional Membership of the RICS or similar professional body
- Passionate and a strong commitment to the decarbonisation and energy efficiency agendas
- Self-motivated and self-disciplined
- Ability to work at pace on timebound projects and to lead others to do the same
- Commitment to continuous personal development and motivated to share learning with others in the team
- Ability to plan and prioritise workload effectively
- Commitment to community engagement activity and to lead communities in achieving energy efficiencies
- Ability to drive/travel throughout the Vale or between locations as appropriate
