The purpose of the role:

This role sits within the PDR IT department, data & analytics section. The focus of this role is to outline, build, test and deploy robust and scalable data engineering solutions. This role reports into the Head of Data & Analytics.

What you will be doing:

Understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions following outlined architecture
Build, test and deploy data pipelines & other data solutions
Design and develop analytical models within cloud data warehouse
Develop and update technical documentation
Monitor, troubleshoot and support existing solutions to ensure data integrity and availability
Support team members through knowledge sharing
Communicate with non-technical audiences to understand business processes and requirements to support design and testing
It is your responsibility to report any weakness or breach that you identify within the Company’s information systems or services (even if only suspected).

Some of the skills and experience we are looking for:

Experience in building datasets (Snowflake) including large complex data
Understanding and experience of data pipeline development and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework and tools (Matillion, Informatica, SSIS etc.)
Experience in working with custom data connectors, such as APIs or SaaS providers (Salesforce, etc.)
Knowledge of data modelling for analytic datasets
Advanced SQL skills
Experience of working within cloud computing platforms (Azure preferred)
Knowledge of data engineering principles
Familiarity with BI technologies (e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Fabric)
Ability to work independently as well as part of the team and be innovative
Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude
Good communicator and able to deliver insight to technical and non-technical audiences
Knowledge of Jira/Azure DevOps
