Remote FSE position for our sales and service subsidiary, Milton Keynes, United Kingdom
Job objective:
The Field Service Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing SMA’s commercial and utility inverters and the end customer experiences ensuring minimum downtime. Duties include commissioning, troubleshooting, replacing and repairing inverters and other SMA technology. Duties also include technical reporting and direct customer facing support.
Key responsibilities:
• Service, repair, maintain and inspect the wide variety of equipment and systems that are installed throughout the UK.
• Delivering excellent field service for commercial and utility solar projects.
• Commissioning, inspecting and repairing PV systems installed by leading EPCs.
• Troubleshooting and repairing string and central inverters as well as other SMA technology.
• Collaborating with our customers, the leading companies in solar, in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
• Communicating with senior service managers to deliver the highest level of service and quality.
• Answering incoming customer calls and processes customer queries and error messages sent to the service line at our subsidiary
• Handling of Service Logistics and spare parts for changing out the individual inverter components and organizes the related logistics.
• Recording issues in SAP CRM documentation
• Maintains the highest safety standards in the workplace and on-site.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Requires 18th Edition certification, Bachelor’s degree
• Has at least three years of experience in professional customer service (telephone-based) and in 5 years + installation, repair or maintenance of electrical plants or other installations in the field of power electronics
• has very good knowledge of high voltage and measurement equipment as well as occupational health and safety regulations
• Must be proficient using MS Office and SAP, and a understanding of IP network technology
• Has a Class B driver’s license
• Is willing to travel across the country / Provide support overseas if required
• Has very good English language skills
• Must have excellent communication skills and be able to interact with customers in a positive and professional manner combined with good independent work skills. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Highly organised and can prioritise workload
• Ability to analyse and solve problems effectively
Reporting line:
- Reports to the Large Scale Service Team Leader

Compensation:
- Base: £37,000 - £47,000 dependant on experience
- £3,000 annual bonus dependant on meeting KPI’s
- Gross payment of £35 per night away from home when working
