Project Engineer – HV Substation Projects (Saudi Arabia) Location: Riyadh & Jeddah, Saudi Arabia Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Turner Lovell are specialist recruiters for HV transmission and energy infrastructure projects across Europe, the Middle East, and the USA. We are supporting a global engineering, manufacturing, and construction firm with the delivery of major infrastructure across Saudi Arabia. Our client specialises in complex EPC projects in the power generation and electricity transmission sectors and plays a leading role in delivering the Kingdom’s energy transition.
We are looking for a Project Engineer to support the technical delivery of 132kV and 380kV high-voltage substation projects, acting as a key interface between engineering, procurement, site teams, and the client.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate the scope and delivery of work packages across engineering, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Support planning and scheduling activities, identify delivery risks, and help update project timelines.
- Provide technical support across subcontractor selection, procurement tracking, and site implementation.
- Monitor quality, HSE compliance, and acceptance activities in line with project standards and procedures.
- Liaise with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders to resolve technical and execution issues.
- Track costs, forecast financial impacts, and support the development of recovery plans where needed.
- Contribute to the preparation of variation orders, project reporting, and contractual documentation.
- Participate in risk reviews and proactively support mitigation plans.
- Support project commissioning and handover activities, ensuring technical compliance and documentation is complete.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Power Engineering
- Registered with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE)
- Minimum 5 years of experience on HV substation projects (132kV and above)
- Experience with major Saudi clients such as SEC, ARAMCO, NEOM, or NG
- Strong communication, coordination, and reporting skills in both English and Arabic
- Willingness to work across different locations in the Kingdom
