Galetech Energy Services (GES) is the multi-disciplinary renewable energy consultancy and services division of Galetech Group. We provide best-in-class consenting support, technical advisory, project management and engineering services from feasibility through to construction and operation.
The successful candidate will join GES at a key point of growth, with the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the future of our GB business. This role offers a platform for the right candidate to take ownership, build client relationships and shape the company's presence in the GB market. The role will also involve periodic travel to Ireland and an opportunity to contribute to our continued success in the Irish market.
About The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have a relevant third-level degree and 5-7 years of experience in the planning and development of renewable energy projects, specifically within onshore wind and/or solar PV. We are looking for an ambitious self-starter who is passionate about renewables and ready to step into a client-facing, delivery-focused role.
You'll be supported by a wider planning and technical team in Ireland and encouraged to grow with the business as we expand our footprint in the GB market.
About The Role
- Lead and support the development and submission of planning applications for renewable energy projects in GB and Ireland
- Coordinate with local authorities, communities and other stakeholders throughout the planning process
- Prepare environmental screening/scoping reports, feasibility studies, planning statements and supporting documentation
- Monitor and interpret relevant planning and environmental policy
- Contribute to planning strategy across projects in GB, Ireland and other international markets
- Support business development activities and relationship management with clients and partners
- Collaborate with the wider Galetech Group team on cross-disciplinary projects
- The location of this role is flexible to suit the successful candidate
Desired Skills
- Have a qualification in planning (RTPI Accredited)
- Experience in delivering planning services within a consultancy or developer environment
- Strong working knowledge of UK planning systems and renewable energy policy landscape
- Excellent organisational, report-writing and communication skills
- A collaborative and proactive approach with a desire to grow a business unit
- Familiarity with planning policy in Ireland (desirable but not essential)
- Full clean driving license and access to own transport
