Job Title: Junior Quantitative Researcher

We are seeking a Junior Quantitative Researcher to join a systematic investment team based in London. This role is suited to individuals with a strong academic foundation and practical problem-solving ability, who are interested in applying data-driven methods to financial markets.
You will contribute to the research, development, and evaluation of systematic investment strategies by analysing large datasets, building models, and working alongside experienced researchers and technologists. The environment is collaborative, analytical, and focused on results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct statistical research to identify patterns and inefficiencies in market data
- Build and test predictive models using robust quantitative methods
- Support the implementation and refinement of systematic trading strategies
- Evaluate model performance and iterate based on empirical results
- Present findings clearly and contribute to ongoing research initiatives
Candidate Requirements:
- A PhD in a quantitative discipline (e.g. Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Statistics) from a red brick university in the UK is essential
- Strong foundation in probability, statistics, and mathematical modelling
- Proficiency in Python (or similar programming languages)
- Experience working with large datasets and numerical analysis tools
- Clear interest in systematic investing and quantitative research
- Self-directed, with strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Desirable (but not essential):
- Exposure to financial or alternative datasets
- Experience with machine learning, time series modelling, or signal extraction
- Familiarity with backtesting frameworks and version control tools
