Summary of the role and key responsibilities
Electrical Engineering
- Assist in preparing electrical drawings and layouts e.g., SLDs, wiring diagrams, cable routes.
- Support basic design tasks such as load calculations, cable sizing, and voltage drop analysis.
- Build knowledge of relevant electrical codes and safety standards.
PV & BESS
- Support layout and basic configuration of PV systems, including module stringing and inverter placement.
- Work with tools such as PVsyst for system performance modelling.
- Learn about grid integration and regulatory considerations for solar PV systems.
- Assist with the review of BESS system designs, datasheets, and vendor specifications.
- Develop an understanding of basic concepts of BESS operation, sizing, and integration with PV or grid.
General Engineering Support
- Participate in internal design reviews and technical meetings.
- Prepare and organise technical documents, drawings and reports.
- Visit project sites where applicable to support inspections.
- Prepare tender documentation to support with the procurement process
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline, such as Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- Recent graduate or up to 1-2 years of relevant experience including internships or project work.
- Exposure to PV or BESS Design tools is highly desirable.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for calculations and data handling.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical work.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar CAD software for drafting.
