🧑 💻 The Role: Head of Software
We’re seeking a collaborative, high-energy engineering leader to head up our software teams. This is a transformative position with real impact across the business.
You will:
- Lead and mentor three cross-functional teams (Driver Experience, Partner Experience, Platform) totalling 9–10 engineers.
- Build a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability within the software group.
- Partner closely with product, operations and other departments to deliver consumer-focused improvements and business-critical features.
- Drive initiatives to improve reliability, efficiency and AI-driven predictive maintenance.
- Enhance our driver app experience and expand features in line with a maturing EV market.
- Navigate regulatory changes and ensure software strategy supports the company’s long-term growth.
💡 What We’re Looking For
We’re interested in candidates who combine technical depth with leadership excellence:
- A proven engineering leader with a track record of managing multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience in product thinking and a business-wide perspective beyond engineering.
- Exceptional communication skills, able to influence across departments and at board level.
- A coach and mentor who can develop the next generation of technical leaders.
- Comfortable balancing strategy with hands-on decision-making in a scale-up environment.
- Ruby on Rails experience helpful but not essential.
- Based within commuting distance of London – 3 days/week in-office required as we transition to a more collaborative culture.
