OverviewWe’re seeking a dedicated Environmental Health & SHEQ Manager to support a leading organisation in the chemical and life-sciences sector. The role focuses on maintaining high standards in safety, health, environment, and quality across all operations.
You’ll take responsibility for ensuring compliance with legislation and ISO standards, conducting inspections, leading audits, and promoting a proactive safety and environmental culture.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct routine inspections of facilities, production areas, and laboratories to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Support and improve SHEQ policies and systems, ensuring ongoing alignment with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
- Manage and document incident reports, audits, and investigations, ensuring corrective actions are completed and communicated.
- Prepare reports and analysis on SHEQ performance, including KPIs, risk assessments, and audit outcomes.
- Lead internal training sessions, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns to promote a culture of safety and sustainability.
- Collaborate with managers and teams to maintain quality, environmental, and ESG accreditations, ensuring the site remains audit-ready.
- Investigate environmental health complaints or incidents and recommend effective corrective measures.
- Keep up to date with relevant legislation and best practices in environmental health and occupational safety.
About YouYou’re a detail-driven professional with a solid understanding of environmental health and safety standards. You can engage confidently with colleagues across departments, balancing technical understanding with a practical approach.
You’ll bring:
- NEBOSH General Certificate or willingness to obtain within 12 months.
- Experience conducting inspections, audits, or investigations in an industrial, chemical, or laboratory environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement improvements.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft 365 and ideally T100 or similar systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with confidence engaging at all levels.
