In this role, you’ll spend your day assembling, inspecting, and shipping tool kits that support field operations—pulling parts from inventory, performing basic mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical tests, and ensuring every tool is job-ready. You’ll manage inventory, handle returns, operate forklifts and cranes, and occasionally guide newer team members, all while following strict safety protocols. It’s a hands-on, fast-paced role that keeps you moving and plays a vital part in getting high-quality tools where they’re needed most.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Adhere to all safety laws and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Perform basic hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical repair and refurbishment, and basic electrical inspection of tooling and equipment.
- Check and replenish inventory of established tool kits, drawing items from the tool crib or ordering thru the Tooling Engineer as needed.
- Collect tooling kits and items as listed on tool order and prepare them for shipment.
- Perform inspections and test procedures for tooling and equipment.
- Provide mentorship and direction for new or lower classified personnel.
- Operate fork trucks, overhead crane, pallet jack and portable lifting systems.
- Maintain clean and organized work area.
- Perform other related duties, including tasks associated with lower labor grade positions, as directed. Requires the use of safety equipment including personal protective equipment.
- Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing/service center environment. Individual work involves frequent lifting of materials and equipment up to a maximum of 50lbs. Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle and/or adjust equipment. Moderate reaching, pushing, pulling, gripping, and grasping. Occasional use of ladders and stairs must be able to ascend and descend.
What You Bring
- Preferred Education: A.A./A.A.S in power plant technology or closely related field; High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
- Capable of using measuring instruments, hand tools and power tools.
- Average level of computer literacy including but not limited to Microsoft Office and ERP system

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is looking for Service Technicians to join the SWA team to be based at Grimsby, United Kingdom on the Hornsea 3 Wind Farm.
You will be involved as active safety leadership when in the turbine/wind farm to ensure the correct reporting of incidents, accidents, near misses, unsafe acts, and conditions along with implementing the flexibility between the service and other scheduled maintenance activities.

How You’ll Make An Impact
- As a Service Technician you will perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and inspections on customers wind farms.
- Responsible for electrical/mechanical scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities on varied wind turbines.
- Coordinate and accomplish the defined service operations and/or resolve product issues on customers equipment.
- Ensure compliance with Siemens Gamesa standards in relation to EHS, Quality and Service delivery
- Assisting the team in the completion of contractual extra scopes including TMSE, Crane and Lift inspection and maintenance
- Provide accurate reporting into and utilization of ATS database and other electronic workflow systems.
- Supervising the SGRE team members, 3rd party technicians, contractors, and sub-contractors for various required scope delivery
- Working and living offshore onboard a Service Operation Vessel (SOV) for weeks at a time
What You Bring
- Background within electrical/ mechanical experience, in wind industry preferred.
- Electrical Qualification (equivalent of NVQ 3 or City and Guilds or above) will be preferred.
- Technicians having experience in service & maintenance with global wind organization standards will be preferred.
- A strong communicator who can ensure compliance with customer and contractual obligations with site rules and regulations of the wind farms.
- Self-starter with a problem-solving skill, who can show the adaptability to prioritize multiple projects and work under pressure.
