Computer Vision/Deep Learning Data Scientist
Gaist is looking for a talented individual to join a well established deep learning team. We are seeking a Data Scientist with strong skills in deep learning and computer vision to help us create better solutions for
infrastructure surveys. You will have petabytes of imagery to utilise and a team of dedicated labellers and deep learning hardware at your disposal. We are an nVidia inception member and you will play a pivotal role in the advancement of AI for automated road condition assessment and infrastructure monitoring for CAVs.

Key Responsibilities
· Researching and developing cutting-edge computer vision and deep learning methods which automate
and support road and pavement condition and treatment surveys.
· Plan, train and evaluate the performance of models and define data strategies for improving the accuracy
of our algorithms.
· Implementing algorithms for detecting and assessing the condition of streetside inventory.
· Implementing new computer vision and machine learning techniques that are suitable for surveying a vast set of infrastructure.
· Implementing commercial software applications at the end of research phase.
· Designing and implementing solutions to automate and expedite surveying tasks performed by human.
Qualifications and Skills:
· PhD or Degree in Computer Vision/Machine Learning/Robotics or related fields or relevant experience.
· In-depth knowledge of fundamentals and state-of-the-art in deep learning and computer vision.
· Prior exposure to at least two of the following subjects: Object detection, image segmentation, structure
from motion or SLAM, multi-view analysis, 3D reconstruction and modelling, and machine learning.
· Strong programming skills, Python and deep learning frameworks. Geospatial processing is a plus.
· Strong analytic skills, diagnosing model performance and weaknesses.
· Experience with machine learning tools e.g. PyTorch, and proven to develop software applications to
interface with these tools.
· Exposure to applying computer vision and/or machine learning algorithms to real world data (large
datasets).
· Experience in computer vision/machine learning industry.
