Role Overview
Are you passionate about driving environmental change and shaping a sustainable future? Gwent Police is seeking a dynamic and visionary
Sustainability Lead to champion our green agenda and help us meet ambitious decarbonisation targets.
In this pivotal role, you’ll support the Tri-Force Environmental Manager in delivering the UK Government’s Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme and the Welsh Government’s carbon positive ambitions. You’ll support the design and implementation of sustainability projects from inception to completion, develop environmental strategies, lead on Force policies and procedures, and advise on energy-efficient technologies across our estate.
Your responsibilities will include preparing business cases and grant applications, auditing environmental performance, and setting organisational sustainability targets. You’ll also provide expert guidance on compliance, risk, and cost-saving initiatives, while fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
We’re looking for someone with a degree in Environmental Sustainability or ESG, relevant professional certifications (e.g., IEMA, NEBOSH), and at least three years’ experience in sustainability and decarbonisation. Strong analytical skills, project management expertise, and a commitment to continuous professional development are essential.
This is your opportunity to make a tangible impact on policing and the environment. If you’re emotionally aware, take ownership, collaborate effectively, and inspire others—this role is for you.
