UK | Hybrid
Lucion
(Smart work. Brilliant people. Managers who actually manage.)
Please note-This role is hybrid, you are required in an office twice a month. We can be flexible in terms of where you are located.
Save the planet (or at least help it significantly)…
…with a company that genuinely cares, knows its stuff, and doesn’t confuse sustainability with buzzwords and beige PowerPoint.
At Lucion, sustainability is practical, evidence-led, and delivered by people who are both very good at their jobs and nice to work with. We’re growing our sustainability capability and are looking for a Sustainability Manager who can lead from the front — confidently, competently, and with a sense of humour intact.
🧠 What You’ll Be Doing (No Two Days the Same)
You’ll be trusted with real responsibility and interesting work — not micromanaged or buried under unnecessary process.
You’ll:
- Lead ESOS compliance projects like a pro — audits, reporting, client advice, the whole package
- Get hands-on with energy audits and turn data into insights clients can actually use
- Act as (or support) an ESOS Lead Assessor (yes, the serious bit)
- Deliver sustainability consultancy services including carbon footprinting and decarbonisation strategies
- Produce Energy & Sustainability Statements that planners and clients don’t secretly dread reading
- Support SECR, ISO 50001, and broader ESG requirements
- Manage projects smoothly, communicate clearly, and produce reports you’re proud to put your name on
- Play an active role in Lucion’s own sustainability and ESG journey — we practise what we preach
In short: proper sustainability work, delivered properly.
🌱 About You (Confident, Curious, Knows Their Stuff)
You’re comfortable being the person in the room who actually understands ESOS, carbon, and energy — and you can explain it without making eyes glaze over.
You probably:
- Have solid experience in environmental or sustainability consultancy
- Know ESOS inside out (or close enough that people come to you with questions)
- Understand UK energy and carbon regulations without needing to Google them
- Enjoy analysing data and turning it into clear, sensible recommendations
- Can talk confidently with clients, planners, and colleagues alike
- Have experience developing Net Zero and decarbonisation strategies
- Care about quality, accuracy, and doing things the right way
You’re professional, switched on, and not afraid to have an opinion — backed up by evidence.
🌟 Bonus Points If You Also Have…
(Not essential, but we’ll definitely smile if you do.)
- ESOS Lead Assessor qualification
- Carbon accounting and net zero delivery experience
- BREEAM assessment experience
- Strong LCA skills, ideally using One Click LCA
🎓 The Formal Stuff
- Degree in sustainability, energy, environmental science, or similar
- Professional membership (IEMA, EI, or similar) — desirable
🎁 The Benefits (Yes, They’re Genuinely Good)
We don’t just talk about looking after people — we actually do it. You can expect some of the best benefits in the industry, including:
- Techscheme - vouchers towards commuting costs or home tech (because life isn’t just work)
- Healthcare Cash Plan - support with everyday healthcare expenses
- Enhanced family leave - when life needs to come first
- Option to buy extra holiday - more time off, no awkward conversations
- Training & development – because good people deserve investment
All backed by brilliant managers, flexible working, and a business that genuinely cares about its people and its impact.
