Role Overview
We are seeking a Business Analyst with strong expertise in Commercial / Corporate Lending, combined with an applied understanding of AI-driven analytics, automation, and data insights to support digital transformation across lending processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business and technology teams to translate lending business needs into clear BRDs/FRD/User stories.
- Lead end‑to‑end implementation of product features, process enhancements, and data/AI-driven solutions.
- Analyze lending data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for automation or AI application.
- Support use-case development for AI/ML initiatives such as:
- credit decisioning and risk scoring models
- document intelligence (OCR/NLP) for financial statements, loan docs, covenants
- anomaly detection for loan monitoring
- AI‑based customer segmentation or behavioural insights
- Work with data science/engineering teams to define data requirements, validate model outputs, and ensure business relevance.
- Prepare detailed reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate analytical insights and AI-driven recommendations.
- Conduct impact analysis for AI-enabled process changes and drive user adoption.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong domain knowledge in Banking & Financial Services, especially Commercial / Corporate Lending processes, underwriting, origination, portfolio monitoring, and credit operations.
- Good understanding on the lending products like Syndicated loans, leveraged loans and other products
- Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret large datasets and translate insights into business decisions.
- Hands-on expertise in SQL for data extraction, validation, and exploratory analysis.
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts such as predictive analytics, NLP, workflow automation, model validation (no coding required, but conceptual understanding expected).
- Experience working with AI-enabled platforms/tools (e.g., document intelligence, workflow automation, chatbots, decision engines).
- Ability to articulate AI use cases, assess business value, and manage stakeholder expectations around AI adoption.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong planning, documentation, and time-management capabilities.
- Strong knowledge of agile processes & hands-on experience working in agile projects & usage of tools like Jira/Confluence.
- Familiarity with Vendor applications like nCino, Loan IQ could be an added advantage
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to tools like Power BI/Tableau, Alteryx, UiPath, or cloud analytics platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP).
- External BA certifications such as IIBA AAC, CCBA, or CBAP.
- Prior experience supporting or implementing AI/ML projects in BFSI.
