Data Analyst | Bristol (On-Site Role) | Permanent | Up to £35,000 p.a
Peaple Talent have partnered with a retail client in Bristol looking to recruit a Data Analyst on a full-time permanent basis.
The primary purpose of this position is to design, build, and roll out new data capabilities across the organisation, while also ensuring existing data processes continue to operate effectively where they remain fit for purpose.
The role involves delivering data-driven solutions aligned with the Group’s wider data strategy, alongside close collaboration with stakeholders to help them understand, interpret, and gain value from the insights produced by these services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the design and implementation of technology-led workflows that enable reliable, efficient, and consistent reporting.
- Lead programmes to rationalise and standardise automated solutions, working alongside third-party specialists to define and embed best-practice approaches.
- Identify opportunities to improve broader business operations by analysing performance data and introducing automation that delivers measurable outcomes.
- Own and guide initiatives related to the adoption, rollout, and governance of AO-enabled solutions.
- Collaborate to discovery activities, including requirements definition and assessment of technical and operational feasibility.
- Support both new and ongoing software development efforts across the team.
- Produce and maintain clear, well-structured documentation covering requirements, outputs, and delivered outcomes.
- Stay informed on emerging capabilities, tools, and best practices within modern data platforms.
- Engage regularly with business stakeholders to provide insight, guidance, and data-driven recommendations.
- Partner with internal engineering teams and service providers to enhance and optimise existing processes where needed.
- Provide support for existing databases and front-end applications as required.
Key Experience Required:
- Proven background in roles that combine data analysis with hands-on software development.
- Practical experience administering and working with SQL-based database systems.
- Exposure to contemporary data warehousing platforms and end-to-end ETL pipelines, such as Microsoft Fabric or equivalent tools.
- Advanced capability with Power BI, including data modelling, Power Query transformations, DAX authoring, and performance tuning.
- Strong familiarity with the broader Microsoft ecosystem and Power Platform tools, including Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint, Excel (including VBA), and Microsoft 365 services.
- Solid SQL development skills, with the ability to write, review, and optimise complex queries.
- Clear and confident communicator, able to translate technical detail into language accessible to non-technical stakeholders.
- Understanding of API-based integrations and back-end system connectivity.
- Working knowledge of multiple programming languages and tooling, such as C#, Python, R, or PowerShell.
- Evidence of ongoing professional growth and commitment to developing new skills.
- Sound understanding of core machine learning concepts, including supervised and unsupervised learning, with experience applying classification and regression techniques.
