Investment Banking Associate – Energy Transition
About the Role
We are seeking a high-calibre Investment Banking Associate to join our Energy Transition team, with a particular focus on German-speaking markets (Germany, Austria, Switzerland).
This role sits within a fast-growing advisory platform focused on renewable energy, energy infrastructure, decarbonisation technologies, and broader climate transition sectors.
The successful candidate will play a key role in originating and executing M&A, debt, and equity transactions across the DACH region and wider Europe.
You will work closely with senior bankers and clients including renewable developers, infrastructure funds, utilities, industrials, and private equity investors.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Execution
- Lead financial modelling and valuation analysis (DCF, LBO, project finance models, trading/transaction comps)
- Prepare marketing materials including teasers, IMs, management presentations and pitch decks
- Coordinate due diligence processes and manage data rooms
- Support negotiation processes and transaction documentation
- Interface directly with clients, lawyers, lenders, technical advisors and other stakeholders
Origination & Client Coverage
- Support senior team members in business development across the DACH energy transition market
- Conduct sector research and develop strategic insights into renewables, energy storage, hydrogen, e-mobility, grid infrastructure, and decarbonisation technologies
- Prepare tailored pitch materials for German-speaking clients
- Maintain active dialogue with sponsors, infrastructure funds and strategic buyers active in the region
Candidate Profile
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in investment banking, project finance, infrastructure advisory, or a relevant energy-focused advisory platform
- Proven M&A or capital markets transaction experience
- Exposure to energy transition, infrastructure, renewables, or utilities sectors preferred
