Description
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Graduate DevOps Engineer to join our business as we continue to scale.
This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate with a degree in Computer Science or related STEM subject to contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust, secure, and scaleable CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure. You will play a key role in supporting the wider software team by automating workflows, improving deployment processes, and ensuring the reliability and security of our systems.
You’ll work across both cloud and physical environments, helping to manage infrastructure, enforce security best practices, and promote agile methodologies throughout the organisation.
This role is ideal for someone interested in gaining some hands-on experience and training in the varied field of DevOps.

This role is based onsite at Quartermile in Edinburgh.
You'll Spend Your Time
- Designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to support rapid and reliable software delivery
- Managing and monitoring cloud-based and physical infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance
- Writing and maintaining infrastructure-as-code using tools like Terraform
- Collaborating with developers and security teams to embed security best practices into the development lifecycle (DevSecOps)
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues across the development, non-production, and production environments
The Key Experience We're Looking For
- Recently graduated with a STEM degree with exposure to software development
- Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation tasks
- Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized application development
- Strong understanding of Linux operating systems and shell scripting
- Familiarity with Git
- A foundational understanding of CI/CD concepts
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Eagerness to learn, adapt, and grow in a dynamic team environment
The Following Would Be Advantageous
- Exposure to infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or Ansible
- Experience or coursework related to cloud platforms, especially Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Awareness of security principles and best practices in software development and infrastructure
- Experience with Bitbucket Pipelines or GitHub Actions
