Health, Safety & Environmental Officer
Salary: £28,000 £35,000 (depending on experience)
Location: Phoenix Way, Swansea Enterprise Park, SA7 9HZ Hybrid (office-based with site visits)
- Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday

We have invested significantly in our systems and processes, and we are now looking for a skilled and motivated HSE Officer to join our professional team.This hybrid role will be primarily office-based with site visits as required. You will play a key part in ensuring compliance, driving continual improvement, cultural change and supporting our health, safety and environmental management ambitions including helping us achieve and maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance & Auditing - Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments in line with company policy and legal requirements. - Ensure compliance with UK HSE legislation and internal standards.
Policy & Systems Management - Support the development, implementation, and improvement of HSE policies and procedures. - Assist in developing and maintaining our Health, Safety and Environmental Management System.
Incident & Emergency Management - Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. - Coordinate emergency preparedness plans and related training.
Training & Culture - Deliver inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings to employees and contractors. - Promote a positive, proactive HSE culture across the organisation.
Environmental Management - Monitor and improve environmental performance, including sustainability initiatives. - Support the achievement and maintenance of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications, including preparation for external audits.
Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement - Maintain accurate HSE records and produce regular performance reports. - Liaise with regulatory bodies, auditors, and internal stakeholders.
About You
- NEBOSH National General Certificate essential.
- NEBOSH Environmental Certificate (or equivalent) essential.
- Experience in an HSE role within construction, utilities, engineering, or a similar operational environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK HSE and environmental legislation.
- Skilled in training delivery, investigations, and audit processes.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and HSE reporting systems.
- Full UK driving licence (required for occasional site travel).
