We are working with a leading engineering solutions provider who are expanding their Customer Engineering Services - operations team from two to three. This is a key hire within a growing business unit, responsible for the delivery of bespoke, turnkey engineering projects ranging from £10,000 up to £250,000, with an average project value around £50,000.
This is an exciting opportunity for a mechanically strong engineer who thrives in a hands-on, project-based role involving both technical design input and customer interaction.
The Role
As an Operations Project Engineer, you will oversee and execute small to medium-sized engineering projects across customer sites within the M3 corridor. You’ll be involved throughout the full project lifecycle from concept and design through to installation, commissioning, and handover.
You’ll work closely with internal engineering teams and customers to deliver safe, timely, and cost-effective installations while ensuring the highest quality and compliance standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage multiple small to mid-scale engineering projects simultaneously across different customer sites.
• Identify, design, and develop mechanical and process solutions tailored to customer needs.
• Prepare and submit project documentation, including Risk Assessments, Method Statements, installation test packs, and handover records.
• Collaborate with internal teams and customers to scope and cost project installation proposals.
• Provide on-site technical support, ensuring projects meet all safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and operations processes.
• Champion and promote health, safety, and environmental best practice in all project activities.
• Work collaboratively with sales and engineering colleagues to deliver excellent customer experiences.
About You
You will be a mechanically focused engineer with a strong understanding of project delivery, capable of managing multiple concurrent installations and engaging directly with clients on bespoke technical solutions.
Key Skills & Experience:
• Higher National Diploma (HND) or Degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical preferred).
• 2–3 years’ experience in a project-based engineering role, ideally within mechanical or process environments.
• Proven ability to scope, cost, and deliver engineering installation projects end-to-end.
• Experience working on turnkey engineering solutions – from concept to completion.
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management across both technical and commercial teams.
• Demonstrable ability to manage multiple projects across different locations simultaneously.
• Full UK Driving Licence – field-based role requiring customer site travel.
• Strong awareness of health, safety, environment, and quality (SHEQ) practices.
• Integrity, accountability, and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a close-knit team.
