- Ensure legal compliance and best practice across all sites, including PUWER, LOLER, COSHH, RIDDOR, DSEAR, CDM and Working at Height regulations.
- Conduct and oversee risk assessments (including manual handling, machinery, lifting operations, hot work, traffic management) and safe systems of work.
- Lead incident/near‑miss investigations with robust root‑cause analysis and effective corrective/preventive actions.
- Plan and deliver H&S training, inductions, toolbox talks, and competency frameworks for all levels, including contractors and visitors.
- Drive behavioural safety and engagement initiatives; coach leaders to role‑model safe behaviours.
- Manage contractor control processes and permit‑to‑work systems.
- Own emergency preparedness (fire safety, spill response, business continuity) and liaise with external agencies as required.
- Track and report leading/lagging indicators; present performance insights and improvement recommendations to the Board.
- Work closely with Quality and Environmental teams on integrated management systems and sustainability objectives.
About You

- Working knowledge of UK H&S law and standards, with practical experience implementing ISO 45001 systems.
- Strong track record of improving safety culture and performance through engagement, coaching and continuous improvement.
- Confident communicator able to influence at all levels—from the shop floor to the Board.
