Are you a high-voltage hero with a passion for precision engineering? We’re looking for a Substation Project Engineer to join a major transmission project operating up to 400kV.
📍 Location: Glasgow / Hybrid (Site & Office Travel Required)
📅 Start Date: July 2025
⏳ Duration: 6 Months + Extension Potential
💰 Rate: £750/day Inside IR35 via Umbrella
🛡️ Clearance: BPSS (DBS/DS, Financial Probity, Employment History) + Medical + RTW
🔧 What You’ll Be Doing:
- Designing outline scopes, layouts, and Single Line Diagrams for new builds & asset replacements
- Reviewing detailed contractor designs & witnessing Factory Acceptance Testing
- Embedding safety by design principles to mitigate engineering risks
- Supporting site teams to ensure quality installations with minimal network disruption
- Evaluating tenders & managing specialist consultant services
🎯 What You’ll Bring:
- Degree-qualified Electrical Engineer
- 3+ years substation project engineering experience up to 400kV
- Proven background in Transmission sector
- Strong grasp of HV substation design, operation & maintenance
- Solid project management skills
- Deep understanding of health & safety regulations
- Full UK Working Rights
