Role – Sustainability Coordinator
Salary – Up to 28K (DOE)
Location- Southport, Manchester, Liverpool, Bolton/ Hybrid
Purpose of the role
To support the delivery of our Responsible Business plan by leading the sustainability elements of our agenda whilst fostering a positive culture of sustainability and compliance with our responsibilities as a business.
Main Responsibilities
- Responsible Business Strategy: Supporting the Responsible Business Manager with the delivery of the sustainability aspects of the business-wide Responsible Business strategy.
- Net Zero and Sustainability Strategy: Lead on the delivery of our strategy, focusing on energy, transport, recycling, food waste, and supplier data analysis to execute our Net Zero and Sustainability strategy.
- Carbon Footprint Management: Calculate and track carbon footprint scopes 1-2-3, working towards achieving our Net-Zero target.
- Data Collection and Tracking: Collaborate with various departments to collect and monitor data related to recycling, food waste, energy, transport, and carbon on a monthly basis.
- ESOS compliance: Supporting the Responsible Business Manager with the data collection needed for the UK Government’s ESOS compliance.
- Engagement: Engage teams across the business with our sustainability agenda and key objectives, such as our facilities team, Mergers and acquisitions and heads of offices.
- Develop and deliver training and upskilling: This is for internal teams on key topics and processes, around sustainability and embedding it in our culture.
- Stakeholder’s ESG Compliance: Work closely with Responsible Business and Contracts teams to ensure that our suppliers complete ESG assessments, ensuring they align with our business practices.
- Interdepartmental Communication and Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with teams (specifically operational teams) and minute our sustainability committee to ensure alignment and collaboration across the business.
- Project Management: Manage and implement projects throughout the organisation to reduce our carbon, water, energy, waste, and food waste footprint.
- External partnerships: Build relationships with key stakeholders and partners outside the business.
- Drive Awareness: Promote and raise awareness across the organisation about the impact of emerging environmental issues.
- Social Value: Support the Responsible Business Manager to create a measurement framework.
- Reporting: Monitoring Responsible Business activity and initiatives across all projects to report on business-wide impact.
- Marketing: Working with the Responsible Business & Marketing teams, you will ensure that our impact is communicated to both internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications, Skills And Experience
- Excellent project management and planning skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Competent in data collection and analysis, ideally gained with sustainability reporting and tracking key sustainability metrics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to motivate, inspire others and work collaboratively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Some experience of working in sustainability (previous experience with ISO and BCorp would be ideal).
- Passionate about sustainability and able to champion sustainability enthusiastically across our business.
- Confident to challenge the way things are done and to work with people at all levels of the organisation.
- Adaptable and able to manage changes to working practices and priorities in a fast-paced, professional services working environment.
