The opportunity:
We are looking for a Data Engineer / Analytics Engineer to join us at an exciting stage, supporting the build-out of our core data platform for laboratory and plant data. You’ll work closely with our Senior Data Engineer and R&D teams to ingest, structure, and deliver high-quality experimental data that scientists and engineers can trust and explore.
This is a hands-on role at the intersection of data engineering and scientific experimentation, ideal for someone who enjoys working with real-world, messy data and turning it into something reliable and useful. You’ll help shape how data is captured, processed, and analysed across our labs and facilities as we scale from experiments to pilot plants and beyond.

What you’ll do:
- Build and maintain data pipelines to ingest experimental and sensor data (CSV, Excel, time-series)
- Work with electrochemistry and engineering teams to understand data sources, formats, and requirements
- Clean, transform, and structure data for analysis and reporting
- Help implement metadata standards to improve experiment comparison and traceability
- Support dashboards and analytical views used by scientists and engineers
- Monitor data quality and investigate data issues when they arise
- Contribute to improving documentation and data best practices
- Learn and grow alongside a senior data engineer, gradually taking ownership of day-to-day operations.
About you
Ideally, you will:
- Be a self-starter who proactively identifies problems and pursues solutions.
- Have experience writing Python for data processing and analysis.
- Be comfortable working with SQL and structured datasets
- Have experience or interest in time-series data
- Enjoy collaborating with scientists and engineers
- Be curious, pragmatic, and comfortable working in a startup environment
Desirable
- Experience with cloud platforms (GCP or AWS)
- Familiarity with analytics tools or dashboards
- Exposure to scientific, laboratory, or industrial data
- Interest in energy, hydrogen, or electrochemistry
- Basic understanding of data modelling or ETL pipelines.
